Ingersoll
AC Repair.
Honest diagnosis. Real repair.

When your AC quits on a hot day, the last thing you need is a sales pitch for a $4,000 replacement. You are paying us for diagnostic skill, 20+ years on residential AC systems, and the repair done right. We do not sell new units. Most AC failures (capacitor, contactor, fan motor, refrigerant) cost a fraction of replacement.

Common Ingersoll AC Problems

Ingersoll AC not cooling?
We've seen it before.

Most Ingersoll air conditioner calls fall into a handful of failure patterns. Match your symptom below before you book.

Not cooling / blowing warm air

Most common Ingersoll AC call. Failed capacitor, low refrigerant, dirty condenser coil, or refrigerant restriction. Usually repairable.

Outdoor unit not running

Condenser fan dead or no power to the outdoor unit. Contactor failure, capacitor failure, electrical disconnect issue. Classic summer breakdown.

Frozen / iced over

Ice on the refrigerant line or evaporator coil. Restricted airflow or low refrigerant. We find the root cause, not just the symptom.

Running constantly / won't shut off

Unit runs all day and the house still won't cool. Refrigerant undercharge, system mismatch, or a faulty thermostat circuit.

Leaking water inside

Condensate drain line blocked. Water backs up into the drip pan and overflows into your ceiling or furnace room. Fast fix when caught early.

Strange noises

Compressor knock or rattle could mean a failing compressor. Fan blade screech is usually a bearing. Loud bang on startup is often a capacitor.

Tripping breaker / electrical issues

AC repeatedly trips the breaker. Could be a failing compressor drawing locked-rotor amps, a short in the wiring, or a failing capacitor stressing the motor.

Refrigerant low / hissing sound

Hissing near the lines often means a leak. Low refrigerant causes warm air and icing. Legally requires an ODP-certified handler - that's us.

Why That Matters For You

AC failures cluster on
the hottest days of the year.

On a 32-degree day, every HVAC shop's phone is ringing. Install-focused crews triage by margin: the next $4,000 install lead jumps the line. We are repair-only. There is no install queue ahead of you because we do not run one.

01

No install queue ahead of you

We do not sell new AC units. There is no margin gradient putting bigger jobs ahead of yours. When you call, you go on the diagnostic queue, not the sales queue.

02

ODP-certified refrigerant handling

Federal law requires certification to handle refrigerants. We are ODP-certified. If your system is low on refrigerant, we can legally diagnose the leak, repair it, and recharge.

03

Repair-first, not replacement-first

A 12-year-old AC that needs a capacitor or fan motor can run another 8 years for a fraction of a replacement. We will tell you which path makes sense. We do not install furnaces, AC units, boilers, or water heaters. The exception is indoor air quality add-ons — humidifiers, HRVs, UV lights, electronic air cleaners — which we do sell and install.

04

Indoor air quality install — the one thing we DO install

Humidifiers, UV light air purifiers, HRV/ERV ventilation, electronic air cleaners, and media filter racks. Sold, installed, serviced, repaired. The one category where the install-and-repair pairing makes sense (small add-on, no quota pressure).

Ingersoll and Oxford County.

Service First covers Ingersoll and the hamlets across Oxford County. Same-day AC repair windows often available, even during heat waves. One flat service zone, no out-of-area surcharges.

From the post-war and subdivision-era bungalows north toward the 401 corridor to the older homes around downtown Ingersoll that often run ductless heads, we work on every kind of residential cooling setup the town has. Southwestern Ontario summers bring humid 30-plus-degree stretches, and that is exactly when aging capacitors, contactors and overworked compressors give out. We keep the common failure parts on the truck so a typical no-cool call gets fixed the same visit.
